Bearreraig Bay.
Start. Storr Lochs car park.
Route. Storr Lochs car park - Power Station - Bearreraig Bay - Power Station - Storr Lochs car park.
Notes. Our final day on Skye saw us travel to the south of the island in a vain attempt to avoid the worst of the weather, after visiting Armadale it was decided to end the day with a short walk to Bearreraig Bay, a steep descent to a beach famous for it's fossils, Sue later described the walk to some German guests in the hotel as a red faced walk, referring to the ascent.
We left the car at the Storr Lochs car park six miles north of Portree on the A855, our route followed the drive over the dam wall down to the Storr Lochs Cottage, followed by a steep descent by way of a slippery pitch path to the beach 350ft below, after exploring the beach it was time for the red faced bit, as we re-traced our route back to the car.
